- My Review: As soon as I saw the name on the bottle of this wine, and knew I had to buy it. I am a huge fan of the Godfather movies (well, excluding the third), and the price was right, so naturally I picked up a bottle, hoping for great things. The label of this wine specifically states that this wine is not supposed to be anything terribly fancy, and is instead an everyday table wine.
When I de-corked the bottle and poured a glass, I was able to detect an oak-y, wood-like scent from the wine, with some dark fruit character as well. The taste was not anything mind-blowing, but was also not repulsive. The taste provided a fairly tannic body with a very dark fruit taste to it. What brought the wine down for me a bit was an almost cough-syrup taste that I did not like very much. All in all, this wine made me an offer that I could refuse.
